About Me

Background

I'm a programmer, specializing in games. I've been interested in gaming and PCs from a young age, with them being a constant all the way through school, university and now my career.

Employment

I've been employed since August 2022 by Spliced Inc. as an Associate Systems Design Engineer working on an unannounced project.

Education

I'm an award-winning 2021 graduate of Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland, with a 1st Class BSc (Hons) Computer Game Applications Development (GPA 4.3).

I was awarded the Alexander D G Kydd Prize in 2nd year, awarded to the best second year student in each of the four Schools, who achieved a high level of performance generally and was deemed to be the best student overall.

I was awarded the John Wilson Lawson Memorial Prize in 4th year, awarded to the best student on the BSc (Hons) Computer Game Applications Development programme, who achieved a high level of performance generally and was deemed to be the best student overall.

I was also recognized as TIGA’s Computer Games Technology Graduate of the Year for 2020/21 on account of my 4th year Honours Project and nominated for TIGAs Education Awards for Outstanding Graduate in Computer Games Technology.

Roles

I've worked in several roles and sub-disciplines throughout my career, both personally and professionally. I specialize in games but have also worked as lead developer on several desktop based apps including utility tools and RESTful store apps.

I've also worked extensively on hardware, with my own custom hardware PCBs for microcontroller projects, as well as several other projects on the Xbox 360.

Personal

Outside of games and technology, I'm a huge football fan. I'm also a keen pool player and pub quizzer.
